Many blogs have covered all this for a long time, in great depth, among them Human Events. I am not going to do so, but I need to mention such an important event, if only for my own records:

To create favorable publicity for gun control, and to make true the oft repeated lie that ninety percent of Mexican drug cartel weapons come from the US, the US government supplied two thousand guns to Mexican criminals who were legally prohibited from buying guns in the USA. Sixty of the guns were found at crime scenes in the US, and hundreds of deadly crimes were committed using the weapons in Mexico. Thirty four of the weapons were 0.50 sniper rifles. The government department that actively did this was the ATF, but every major government department and the entire mainstream media have been accessories after the fact. “Fast and Furious” has been vigorously investigated by some elements of the Republican party – and equally vigorously ignored by other elements of the Republican party.

“Fast and Furious” confirms what we all know: That the government wants criminals armed, and productive citizens disarmed, in order to make its subjects dependent on the state.

My position on guns is that the difference between honest people and criminals is pretty obvious, and that honest people should be armed with any weapons they deem appropriate, including full auto guns, rocket launchers, mortars, and the like, and criminals disarmed, of everything including sticks. Unfortunately, if government is allowed to define who is a criminal, it is apt to decriminalize burglary of an occupied residence, while criminalizing the use of “gay” as a curse word, even if one manages to elect politicians who disagree quite vigorously with this. Observe today’s Britain.

Reflect that even if we elect Herman Cain president, with a Republican house and senate, the government criminals that implemented “Fast and Furious” will still be employed by the government, will still be in power, and will be immune from firing, or even from having their power diminished. Consider: A civil servant can easily do a great deal to get a politician to lose his seat, but a politician cannot fire a civil servant. Who then has the power? Consider that if a private citizen, or even a politician, ran guns to criminals, he would be in jail for a very long time, but no one imagines that any of the very large number of civil servants involved in “Fast and Furious” will suffer any adverse consequences thereby. To punish these men would constitute regime change, would require armed revolution and fighting in the streets.

And now back to my regular blog topics.

A Day of Rage has been declared for this coming Saturday by an obscure leftist group, one sufficiently obscure that anything bad that happens can be blamed on it.

They will be raging at Wall Street. In 2008, it became obvious that Wall Street had blown trillions of other people’s money, and yet no Day of Rage back then. What has happened lately?

What has happened lately is that the Obama regime has been trying to separate itself from accusations of crony capitalism by Sarah Palin and others, for example by suing their Wall Street buddies for crimes committed by Wall Street at the instigation of the regulators, crimes committed with a wink and a nod from Fannie and Freddy.

To show that the left is not so palsy-walsy with Wall Street, we shall see some “anarchists” smashing windows and lighting fires on Wall Street, while the police are strangely inactive and ineffectual, and those arrested, if any, go largely unpunished.

They have not yet figured out what their demands are going to be, but it is safe to predict that they are not going to demand that businesses that lose lots of money should be allowed to go bust.

On 2001, September the 11th, on United Airlines Flight 93:

At 9:27am, Tom Burnett called his wife, reporting the hijacking. She informed him of the attack on the two towers, from which he concluded the hijackers intended to fly them into a building.

At 9:30am Sandy Bradshaw, flight attendant, called her husband:

“Have you seen what’s happening? Have you heard? We’ve been hijacked.”

They talked about their children, and told each other they loved each other.

At about 9:37am Jeremy Glick called from the plane to his wife to report the hijacking. He learns about the attack on the two towers, and realizes what the hijackers are planning.

Todd Beamer tried to call his wife, but could not get through. At 9:45 he found himself talking to Verizon Customer service. He tells them that one passenger is dead. He doesn’t know about the pilots. One hijacker is in the rear of the plane, claiming to have a bomb strapped to his body, blocking access to the hijackers in the cockpit. He tells the operator that they plan to jump the hijacker with the bomb.

“I know I’m not going to get out of this.”

At 9:47, Jeremy Glick called his wife again, and tells her that all the male passengers are going to rush the hijackers.

At 6:54am Thomas Burnett called his wife Deena Burnett again
“A group of us is going to do something,” he told Deena.

Deena told him, “No, Tom, just sit down and don’t draw attention to yourself.”

“Deena, if they’re going to crash the plane into the ground, we have to do something. We can’t wait for the authorities. We have to do something now. Pray, just pray, Deena. We’re going to do something,”

Sandy Bradshaw told her husband that she was boiling water to toss over the Islamic hijackers.

Todd Beamer tells the Verizon operator to sing the twenty third psalm, “The Lord is my Shepherd” with him.

In the background of Sandy Bradshaw’s call to her husband, some men preparing to die fighting were singing the twenty third Psalm.

The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’ sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: For thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou annointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.

Another passenger, Elizabeth Wainio was speaking to her stepmother.

At 9:59-10:00am Tod Beamer drops his phone. In the background, the Verizon operator hears him say to other people on board the plane “Are you ready guys? Let’s roll.”

Elizabeth Wainio tells her stepmother.

“I have to go. They’re about to storm the cockpit”

She hangs up without giving her stepmother a chance to reply.

Sarah Sandy Bradshaw’s tells her husband

We’re all running to first class

I’ve got to go. Bye.

She drops the phone, without hanging up.

Jeremy Glick, more optimistically, interrupts his 26-minute call to his wife, by saying:

Hold the line. I’ll be back.

These warriors took out the terrorist with a bomb without him having a chance to explode. Perhaps the boiling water disoriented him for long enough.

They then broke into the locked cockpit. During the struggle, the hijackers flew the plane towards the ground, indicating that the passengers were gaining control of the cockpit. At the very end, just before the crash, the black box records people speaking in English about guiding the plane.

A few years back I remarked that the average respectable middle class male had committed hundreds of felonies, each worth many years jail time. Things have become worse since then:

Where were you when owning wood became a felony?

…

Looking around my house, not one piece of wooden furniture – either the ones I built or the ones I bought – has a label telling the genus and species it came from along with the country of origin. Certainly the toothpicks and knife handles don’t. I see perhaps 2 dozen felonies within eye shot.

…

… we will phase in enforcement of the declaration requirements for additional chapters containing plants and plant products covered by the Lacey Act, including (but not limited to) Ch. 12 (oil seeds, misc. grain, seed, fruit, plant, etc.), Ch. 13 (gums, lacs, resins, vegetable saps, extracts, etc.), [vegetable saps and extracts? like olive oil, maple syrup? - gb] Ch. 14 (vegetable plaiting materials and products not elsewhere specified or included), [the wildcard so they can arrest you for anything - gb] Ch. 45 (cork and articles of), Ch. 46 (basket ware and wickerwork), Ch. 66 (umbrellas, walking sticks, riding crops), Ch. 82 (tools), Ch. 93 (guns), Ch. 95 (toys, games and sporting equipment), Ch. 96 (brooms, pencils, and buttons), and Ch. 97 (works of art). …

…

… anyone who exports, transports, sells, receives, acquires or purchases such products in the United States, may be prosecuted.

Of course, this is primarily applied against businesses, because businesses have more money lying around to steal.

Are you wondering why the economy has not recovered?

Just as the treatment of Senator Joe McCarthy implied that suppressing communist spies was suppressing freedom of speech, in the same way, the message is now going out that suppressing Molotov cocktails is suppressing freedom of speech.

When the left, aka the government, wants an opponent or apostate harmed or killed, they don’t do it the way totalitarian regimes do it. It is more like “Who will rid me of this turbulent priest”. And that is what we are now hearing.

The way it is done is not that someone at the top signs a death warrant, and a KGB goon is directed “take care of this guy”, communist style. Rather, news gets around with a wink and a nod that certain crimes will be overlooked, and anyone who pays too much attention to such crimes will be the one that gets in trouble. It is not as reliable and effective as death warrants, but it is often adequate to get the job done.

In 2008, the message to the leftist rank and file was that they should allow Republicans to meet and organize unmolested. We are now seeing, in preparation for the 2012 elections, a different message.

In 2008, leftists organized to protest the Republican National Convention, and some of them organized to prevent the Republican National Convention. The latter were, of course, squashed like bugs, for going further than the authorized policy of the official government left.

The two FBI informants are now, starting 2011 February, in deep shit, which sends a message not to trouble innocent peace loving protestors with their innocent peace loving Molotovs next time.

One informant is charged with domestic violence and such. Perhaps, by shear coincidence, he happens to be actually guilty. This therefore does not necessarily send a message. What, however, is happening to Brandon Darby does send a message, and that message is “Go for Republicans this time”.

Brandon Darby, wearing a wire, asked a couple what they were going to do with their Molotov cocktails. They gave the answers you would expect, and then the FBI were all over them like a rash. One confessed, one alleged that Darby was a provocateur, but then retracted the allegation when he discovered that the prosecution had a tape of a phone call he had made to a co-conspirator.

And everything was fine for Brandon Darby until 2011. Then, starting 2011 February, we hear the voice of authority, the voice of the left, the voice of the state, the New York Times and PBS, denouncing Brandon Darby as an evil agent provocateur, who encouraged these poor innocent easily led lads to make Molotov cocktails and say disturbing things into his hidden mike.

Of the two informants, two are down. The message is, that if you should see some deeply caring young progressives with deeply caring Molotov cocktails to encourage progress, you had best not mention it.

Which also sends the message that if you are a deeply caring young man, doing something about Republicans is unlikely to get you into real trouble this time around. The Justice Department, the New York Times, and PBS, is going to be on your side, so how much trouble can you get into?

Just as the treatment of Senator Joe McCarthy implied that suppressing communist spies was suppressing freedom of speech, in the same way, the message is now going out that suppressing Molotov cocktails is suppressing freedom of speech.

Bryan Caplan wanted people to go on record predicting the future of Egypt before the future becomes apparent. My prediction has come true

As the US goes to war to secure victory for the revolutionaries in Libya, let us take a look at how the revolution is going in Egypt:

Muslim terrorists who were lurking in the dark are now in control of the streets of Egypt, not the army.

Schools have been closed since January 25 out of fear that terrorists will come into the school to rape and kill students, and the school administrators do not want responsibility for that.

There are no police to speak of since they are the enemies of the Muslim Brotherhood. The police are hiding from the terrorists, and there is no 911 to call.

There is a complete breakdown of law and order — not just in Cairo, but in all of Egypt.

Women are being attacked, mugged and assaulted in broad daylight.

The once-banned militant Islamic preachers are now back from exile and are openly preaching hate toward Christians, the West and Israel.

Priests are being beheaded in their own apartments.

Churches are being burned to the ground.

On March 8, thirteen Christians were killed and 150 were injured — 48 of them seriously.

The army is acting impotently, if not sympathetically, with the Muslim Brotherhood. In fact, the army is infested with Muslim Brotherhood members.

The new government recently appointed by the military council is made up of cabinet members who are on the record as against the peace treaty with Israel. They also are sympathetic to the Muslim Brotherhood.

We are arming and aiding our enemies.

Bryan Caplan wanted people to go on record predicting the future of Egypt before the future becomes apparent. My prediction has come true

There is an effort to blame Mubarak for this, but if the goons of a US ally had done this, if the goons of a man who accepted peace with the west had done this, the mainstream media would be covering this with headlines the size of tombstones, instead of piously sweeping it under the carpet.

No one is going to be punished for this, and the good progressives really do not want anyone to be punished, since whites and Americans are always in the wrong, and the enemies of civilization always in the right. I doubt that even Lara Logan wants anyone punished for this, for she is surely a true believing progressive. Only a true believing progressive would have wandered into a mob of savages without adequate backup, preferably backup from such evil white capitalist imperialists as the men of Blackwater or Executive Outcomes.

This incident reminds me of that Yellowstone park incident where a woman who had seen too many Disney movies poured honey on the hands of her little girl, and asked the girl to feed the bear. The bear, of course, ate the girl, starting with her hands.
