Julian Assange is a hero

Tuesday, December 7th, 2010

Yes, he is a leftist, but he is an enemy of the regnant left, an enemy of the state, an enemy of my enemy.  Why are all these rightists complaining when Assange makes Obama look like a dangerous lunatic and the state department look like deluded religious fanatics?  Are these rightists loyal to a government that is at every level composed of men who hate them and regard them as enemies?  Apparently so.

What took down the Roman Catholic theocracy was not the light of reason, not the enlightenment, but bigoted religious zealot theocrats like Martin Luther, who were rebelling because the Church was not theocratic enough.  Julian Assange is one of those rebel theocrats.

Julian Assange’s most important accomplishment was not leaking a pile of private emails that show our masters speaking unspeakable truths that no one speaks in public.  What I found more disturbing was how often the cables were bland, how often they sincerely believed their deluded lies.  What I found disturbing was not that these diplomats sometimes spoke the truth, but that they usually did not, that while hereditary aristocrats and monarchs can usually see the truth and are apt to speak it, and foreign politicians can sometimes see it and sometimes speak it, American diplomats can seldom see the truth even when it is right in front of them.  The cables are shocking not because they reveal what was unknown, but because they sometimes reveal what everyone know but no one says – but far too often, the cables are not shocking, far too often they reveal a theocracy that piously and sincerely believes in its official religion, far too often the cables reveal a frightening lack of hypocrisy.

Julian Assange’s most important accomplishment was rubberhose, the predecessor to truecrypt.  In the long run, it is more effective to change society by changing the tools through which people interact, than by direct confrontation with the state.  The state exists only because people think it exists, and is therefore far more fragile than it seems.

The war with Islam was lost on the playing fields of Sidwell Friends

Sunday, November 28th, 2010

Roissy reports how when the Washington school to which the elite send their children made a poor sporting performance, their response to losing was childish, unsporting, and unmanly.

Pajamas Media reports how unsportsmanlike attitudes are inculcated, and masculinity treated as a mental defect caused by testosterone poisoning.

If the Battle of Waterloo was won on the playing fields of Eton, America was lost on the playing fields of Sidwell Friends.

The childish and unmanly response of the kids from Sidwell Friends very much reminds me of the unmanly British response to military defeat in Basra.

Losing to Islam

Parapundit discovers that 130 000 US soldiers have suffered brain damage in Iraq and Afghanistan.

This is far too high a price.  We have to defeat Islam, but cannot do it this way.  We have use methods that inflict much higher costs on Islam, at much lower cost to ourselves.

War with Islam

Tuesday, October 12th, 2010

The Muslim brotherhood has majority support in Egypt, and supposedly moderate Muslim organizations that are linked to western governments, and supported by them, are in large part Muslim brotherhood organizations.

Memri translates a sermon by the Brotherhood’s  “Supreme Guide” posted on the Brotherhood’s website.

… they are disregarding Allah’s commandment to wage jihad for His sake with [their] money and [their] lives, so that Allah’s word will reign supreme and the infidels’ word will be inferior…

… the improvement and change that the nation seeks can only be attained through jihad and sacrifice and by raising a jihadi generation that pursues death just as the enemies pursue life.

The Soviet Union fell dramatically, but the factors that will lead to the collapse of the U.S. are much more powerful than those that led to the collapse of the Soviet empire – for a nation that does not champion moral and human values cannot lead humanity, and its wealth will not avail it once Allah has had His say, as happened with [powerful] nations in the past. The U.S. is now experiencing the beginning of its end, and is heading towards its demise…

After 9/11, I started reading old books, and found our past had been rewritten.  It turns out that Islam has always been at war with us, at war with all infidels.  A substantial and important part of our history has been erased, perhaps because it is “racist”

Thomas Jefferson and John Adams asked the Barbary Ambassador what right they attacked us.

The Ambassador answered us that it founded on the Laws of the Prophet, that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have answered their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as prisoners, and that every Mussulman who should be slain in battle was sure to go to Paradise.

America was out of this war from 1830 to 1960, because the French foreign legion, and French sponsored settlers, were taking the brunt of it. When the French pulled the settlers out, we started to get hit with increasing effectiveness, much as Israel got rockets when they pulled the settlers out of Gaza.

Over the past thirteen hundred years we never had peace with Islam, just higher and lower levels of war, and when we had very low levels of war, we accomplished it by meeting state level war with state level war, but substate level war with substate level war – we met met substate level war with settlers, settler militias, and state sponsored pirates and brigands. For over a thousand years, settlers, brigands, and pirates, have been the keys to defeating Islam. Observe what happened when we pulled the settlers out of Algeria, and the settlers out of Gaza.

The only time when we enjoyed peace from them was during the colonial period when any trouble from them resulted in colonialist settlers taking their land and their women.

To survive, we need far more modest goals, and need to apply far more drastic measures, and far cheaper measures.

Because war with Islam is permanent and irreversible, we must fight it by methods that are sufficiently economical that we can sustain them permanently. This requires that all measures be carefully evaluated for the minimum cost to us, and the maximum cost to them. Building schools for them to blow up fails to meet that criterion. Seizure or destruction of assets meets that criterion wonderfully, and it is an operation that can be privatized, and over the past thousand years of warfare, usually was.

Losing to Islam

Islam is theocratic.  It intends to conquer. Shariah law, as interpreted by most Muslims, treats women fine.  Trouble is, as interpreted by all Muslims, even Sufis, it requires that infidels submit to law that makes them second class to believers and that Muslims fight to impose such law – and we are in fact submitting to such law.  The rather small Sufi minority merely propose less drastic measures to impose inferiority.

East Lansing, Michigan Police Department offers $10,000 reward in Qur’an-burning case

The department is offering $10,000 for any information that would lead to the identification and prosecution of those responsible for this act.

In November 2009, a high school senior was suspended in order to protect him from violence when he wrote an essay criticizing perceived special treatment for Somali Muslims in his school. In Dearborn, Mich., Christian missionaries were arrested for proselytizing at an Arab festival. In Minnesota, the state accommodates Shariah’s prohibition on interest payments by buying homes from realtors and reselling them to Muslims at an up-front price. Thereby providing Muslims with preferential access to homes at the expense of infidels.  Apparently the Constitution requires separation of Church and state, but no separation of mosque and state.

While Christianity is forbidden in government schools, Islam is preached and sponsored by the state.

Molly Norris, the Seattle cartoonist whose artwork sparked the controversial “Everybody Draw Muhammad Day!” has gone into hiding, changed her name, and so forth.  The state is not protecting her.

Similarly for the Sweden Democrats.

In much of Europe, including England, people who criticize Islam are capriciously prosecuted

One supreme court justice has proposed that burning the Koran be banned – though none would suggest similar courtesy for the flag or the bible, or the 9/11 dead.  When an obscure church proposed to burn the Koran its website was  shut down, its insurance policy has been canceled, and its mortgage has been called in by its bankers.

In England two men were arrested for watching a video of a Koran burning

Muslims are abducting infidel women, raping them, getting them pregnant, and forcibly marrying them as additional wives, and everyone is closing their eyes to it.

Our official moderate Muslim, Imam Rauf, is curiously evasive about 9/11.

How many Christians reacted violently to Piss Christ? Not a one, zero.  How many Muslims reacted violently to cartoon Mohammed?  Hundreds of thousands committed criminal acts, millions cheered them on.

All the great leaders of Islam were war makers, military leaders, conquerors, slavers.  This just is not a pattern you see in Christianity.  Not only did the original prophet of Islam massacre defeated populations, every subsequent great Islamic religious leader acted similarly – some better, some worse, but all directly commanded wars, personally led them, and took extreme measures to subjugate the defeated population.  In contrast, absolutely zero great Christian religious leaders has done this – you do not see popes and bishops leading armies, burning towns, and personally ordering the rape of the women of the conquered.

Christian fanatics generally lock themselves in dungeons and meditate.  Islamic fanatics blow themselves up.

Christian leaders that combined the role of military and religious leader have always been a marginal phenomenon, and phenomenon that  occurred only among those directly at war with Islam: the Knights of Malta and the Knights Templar.  Further, those combining Christian religious and secular power have frequently led their followers to disaster by recollecting Christ’s command to forgive one’s enemies and turn the other cheek at some highly inopportune moment, as Grand Master Bolheim of the Knights of Malta did.

Just as there is in all the world not one Christian who called for violence against the creators of Piss Christ and Andres Serrano, there is in all the world not one Muslim very few Muslims who condemned the fatwa against Molly Norris.  In that sense, every single Christian in the entire world is opposed to holy war and seeks peace, and every single Muslim in the entire world supports holy war and seeks conquest.

Let us imagine the situation was reversed, and some notable Christian preacher was to call for the murder of Andres Serrano. Obviously, if this happened, which it never would, every other notable Christian leader would condemn that call. Compare and contrast with the call for the murder of Molly Norris.  Not every Muslim has called for the murder of Molly Norris, but not one Muslim has condemned the call either.

Mao’s murders

Monday, September 20th, 2010

Rummel estimated that Mao killed wrongfully killed seventy seven million, and the Black Book of Communism estimates sixty five million  – but, of course, it is notoriously difficult to say what a totalitarian terror state based on slavery and mass murder is up to.   They called it an iron curtain because you could not see what was behind it. So how should we judge the accuracy of estimates?

One good way is to see what happens to those estimates when new data arrives.  If the estimates tend to go up when we get new information, the original estimates were on the low side.  If they tend to go down, perhaps the original estimates were exaggerated.

Because the great leap forward was violently controversial even within the communist party, it is the crime of communism that the present party leadership finds least hurtful to investigate. The present leadership descends from those who resisted the great leap forward, and are therefore less implicated by these crimes.  So they have recently allowed investigation.

Rummel estimated the great leap forward democide to be twenty seven million, largely a result of forced exactions of grain from starving peasants, akin to the Ukraine famine.  More recent data indicates forty five million.

The communist party of China now believes in “Socialism with Chinese Characteristics” – which looks remarkably like Capitalism with Hong Kong Characteristics, and Hong Kong is itself the society that among present day societies most closely resembles Manchesterism, the capitalism that made the Industrial Revolution, which system was exported to parts of the third world by early nineteenth century colonists.

The weak horse

Mark Steyn brilliantly skewers our Afghanistan policy.  He primarily blames Obama, though the rot set in under Bush.

Why would Putin, Ahmadinejad or the ChiComs take Barack Obama seriously when even a footling client such as Hamid Karzai can flip him the finger?

The toppling of the Taliban was an operation conducted with extraordinary improvised ingenuity and a very light U.S. footprint. Special forces on horseback rode with the Northern Alliance and used GPS to call in air strikes: they’ll be teaching it in staff colleges for decades to come. But then the Taliban scuttled out of town, and a daring victory settled into a thankless semi-colonial policing operation, and then corroded further under the pressure of the usual transnational poseurs. After 2003, Afghanistan became the good war, the one everyone claimed to have supported all along, if mostly retrospectively and for the purposes of justifying their “principled moral opposition” to Bush’s illegal adventuring against Saddam. Afghanistan was everything Iraq wasn’t: UN-approved, NATO-backed, EU-compliant. It’d be tough for even the easiest nickel ’n’ dime military incursion to survive that big an overdose of multilateral hogwash, and the Afghan campaign didn’t. Instead of being an operation to kill one of the planet’s most concentrated populations of jihadist terrorists, it decayed into half-hearted nation-building in which a handful of real allies took the casualties while the rest showed up for the group photo. The 2004 NATO summit was hailed as a landmark success after the alliance’s 26 members agreed to put up an extra 600 troops and three helicopters for Afghanistan. That averages out at 23.08 troops per country, plus almost a ninth of a helicopter apiece. As it transpired, the three Black Hawks all came from one country—Turkey—and within a year they’d all gone back. Those 600 troops and three helicopters made no practical difference, but the effort expended on that transnational fig leaf certainly contributed to America’s disastrous reframing of its interests in Afghanistan.

And so here we are, nine years, billions of dollars and many dead soldiers later, watching the guy we’ve propped up with Western blood and treasure make peace overtures to the Taliban’s most virulently anti-American and pro-al-Qaeda faction

If Jews bleed, it does not lead

The biggest story of the last few days has been Israel’s interception of peace activist ship to Gaza, in which they killed nine peace activists.

Here is a picture of some peace activists holding down a soldier at knifepoint, with what appears to be a pool of blood on the bulkheads.
knife and pool of blood
When the the picture gets carried at all in the mainstream media, the knife and the blood gets cropped.  Even Fox news has not shown the picture at all.

The Muslim press, however, are showing these photos as they are – which is not the first time the Muslim press in totalitarian terror states has shown itself to be more free than in the west  – I guess Muslims get more slack than Dhimmi.

Freedom flotilla vs Israeli Defence Forces.

Don’t take a knife to a gunfight.

Israel is blockading Gaza.  Activists attempted to force the blockade with pathetically inadequate weapons.  Perhaps the intent was to suffer some pathetic casualties, that they could then whine about, or perhaps they were just stupid.

If you are going to engage soldiers and marines, you should either take no weapons at all other than moral force, which may not be all that effective, but will not get you killed, or else weapons capable of doing some good.  Hamas tried weapons that should have been capable of doing some good, but the Israeli Defense Forces proved otherwise.  This leaves moral force only.  If you take a knife to a gunfight, as these activists did, the appropriate response is to laugh at them and piss on their graves.

As a result of our defeat, Arab terrorists have moved into Korengal valley. Now Al Quaeda has safe haven in Korengal and their objectives will not be restricted to protecting the freedom of those in Korengal, but destroying our freedom in lands far from Korengal, murdering Jews and Americans, wherever we may be, anywhere in the world.

Here is the Taliban video of their great victory in Korengal valley: (more…)
