State capitalism

Google and Facebook competing for an Obama cabinet slot

Big corporations get bigger while smaller businesses disappear. Most regulation is impossible to comply with, and is intended to be impossible to comply with. You “comply” with it by getting favors from the state exempting you from compliance.

Google is evil

Google tells us

Like other technology and communications companies, Google regularly receives requests from government agencies and courts around the world to hand over user data.

Note that “government agencies and courts”. No warrant needed.

Google … provides government agencies with e-mail communications, documents, browsing activity, IP addresses used to create an account and other data when asked.

Google is evil

November 11th, 2012

The official story for the shafting of General Petraeus is that:

Central Intelligence Agency Director David Petraeus resigned after a probe into whether someone else was using his email led to the discovery that he was having an extramarital affair, according to several people briefed on the matter.

A Federal Bureau of Investigation inquiry into use of Mr. Petraeus’s Gmail account led agents to believe the woman or someone close to her had sought access to his email, the people said.

All emails directly to and from Google’s server are encrypted, unless they pass through a non google server. But they are kept forever in the clear on Google’s servers, and searched by the world’s greatest AI. So the only entity that could suspect that someone else was using his email is Google, which would normally react by automatically or semi automatically contacting general Petraeus by phone, not the FBI.

So, looks like Google ratted him out

And since when do government officials lose their jobs for extramarital affairs? Looks to me that someone wanted to get rid of General Petreaus, perhaps to replace him with someone even further left, and asked Google for whatever dirt they had on him, and an extramarital affair was the best they could come up with.

America was cooked a long time ago

November 8th, 2012

A lot of people are saying that this election shows America is cooked.

What this elections shows is that producers are now outvoted by gimmiedats, a change that happened between 2010 and 2012: The gimmiedats are mostly non asian minorities plus white sluts.

Obama’s stimulus failed to stimulate, for the same reason as Britain’s austerity is not austere. It discouraged people from being producers, while encouraging them to become gimmiedats. While this failed to stimulate the economy, it did a mighty good job of stimulating the left wing vote. The British conservatives, as much as Obama, give economics second place to moving the electorate ever leftwards by making it ever more dysfunctional, and it seems likely that Romney would have at best been no better than British conservatism.

But this outcome was made inevitable a long time back Read the rest of this entry »

The damage caused by diversity

November 4th, 2012

Diversity kills.

Occidentalist has updated his survey of surveys.  Despite radical social changes and a wide variety of testing regimes, American black IQ always tests out one standard deviation below American white IQ.  Similar differences in character and criminal propensities are obvious.

How big is one standard deviation? Read the rest of this entry »

Free jim.com email addresses

November 2nd, 2012

For as long as comments remain open on this post, you can get a free someone@jim.com email address, such that any mail sent to someone@jim.com will be forwarded to the address requested in your comment.

I have discovered that yahoo does not like people registering email addresses by proxy, and google likes one true name to rule them all, insisting on it as part of the android operating system, among other places.  My intent is to obstruct such identity collecting activities by obscurity.  This redirect is not guaranteed to last forever, though it will last a long time, and is not secure against a serious adversary.  I will eventually delete the comments, so that people cannot discover the true email address by simply reading the comments unless they are quick off the mark.  Not all names are available.  There are already quite a lot of active someone@jim.com email addresses.  I don’t intend to supply such obscurity to large numbers of people, because I am lazy, and because if I did, it would no longer be obscure, and  so am not going to put up an automatic system to support large numbers of addresses.

This, like voting for Cthulhu, is merely a gesture of protest, pointing in the direction of the need to change the world, rather than an actual attempt to change the world:  To actually change the world, use cypherpunks remailers and tor.

Why vote for the lesser evil

Why vote for the lesser evil?

If you vote Democrat, you vote for the branch of the Cathedral’s public relations department that specializes in moving the left edge of the Overton window leftwards

If you vote Republican, you vote for the branch of the Cathedral’s public relations department that specializes in moving the right edge of the Overton window leftwards.

A vote for Romney will slow the destruction of the private economy, but it means that private health care goes outside the Overton window, that ending population replacement goes outside the Overton window.  If Romney gets elected, advocating private health care or border control, or stopping illegals from voting will be as crazy career suicide as advocating white supremacy – as  crazy as advocating any non left policy that no longer receives support from the mainstream parties.

The left is the state, and the state is the left.  The Republican party is part of the state, and so the range of policies that it is thinkable for republicans to endorse moves ever leftwards. Read the rest of this entry »

Origins of Leftism

October 28th, 2012

Bruce Charlton, who is usually wise except when his religion gets in the way of reality, argues that the origins of the left are not in Christianity, but rather in secularism, that Christianity became corrupted into leftism by becoming secular, rather than secular because corrupted into leftism.

He is wrong.  Christianity really is to blame.  First Christians became leftists, then, being leftists, became secularists.

Christianity became corrupted, then became secular because corrupted.  It did not become corrupted because secular.  It was corrupt when it opposed New Testament style marriage, slavery, and supported the emancipation of women. Read the rest of this entry »

The Flaw in Moldbug’s proposed dictatorship.

October 27th, 2012

Obviously democracy is not working, is failing catastrophically.  The productive are outvoted by the gimmedats, in large part non asian minorities and white sluts. Moldbug’s solution is simple:  Dictatorship, evolving into Monarchy.  The dictator, he hopes and expects, will fire all government employees, except for military, police, and some tax collectors.  What use are all the rest of them to a strong dictator?

A good government is a stationary bandit, since a stationary bandit has an incentive to shear the sheep, rather than flay them.  A bad government is a mobile bandit, and the government service in democracies increasingly approximate mobile bandits.  Each bureaucrat seeks to increase his power and wealth, even if the total burden is well above the Laffer limit.

The trouble is that a dictator is not necessarily a stationary bandit:  A secure dictator, for example a martial and charismatic monarch of a long established dynasty, is a stationary bandit.   Unfortunately, not only are long established dynasties in short supply, but when you have one, the legitimate heir to the throne is seldom martial and charismatic.
